Em uma entrevista pra uma rádio, Zacky foi questionado sobre várias coisas, inclusive o novo baterista, o que ele disse foi:
“We basically said we want a kid that nobody knows, no one’s heard of that rips at the drums, somebody that’s going to take nothing for granted and be super excited and build his own legacy the way that we have. We met Arin based off of a recommendation from our drum tech, our studio drum tech and you know we rehearsed with him and within seconds of the first song, he walked in there so shy, sat down at the drums and it was like watching John Bonham of metal. He hit so hard and he like the nerves did it, you know, it made him better and he was slaying it we all had a smile on our face and were like this kid is pretty awesome. So we rehearsed with him and I mean he learned everything, he started out on a much smaller drum kit you know, making no money at a crappy job, and we said hey you want to do this you know you want to come out with us and you know his face lit up and um like I said it’s giving somebody a chance to start with nothing and build their own legacy the way that we have you know we came from nothing and you know just it was based off friendship and you know no egos no, none of that, it’s just all about the music, the fans and uh it’s really exciting for us to give somebody an opportunity like that. I think it’s like a dream come true for them you know cause there’s lot of studio drummers that are good that can get out there and we just didn’t want to do that. We wanted to have something real.”

TRADUÇÃO: “Basicamente queríamos um garoto que ninguém conhecesse, que ninguém tivesse ouvido falar e que estaria super empolgado pra criar seu proprio legado do jeito que nós fizemos. Conhecemos Arin baseado numa recomendação do nosso técnico de bateria, técnico de bateria de estúdio e ensaiamos um pouco e em segundos da primeira musica, ele andou tão timidamente e sentou na bateria e foi como ver o John Bonham do metal. Ele bate tao forte é como se seus nervos o fizessem e esse jeito fez ele melhor, ele estava la destruindo e todos nós tinhamos um sorriso no rosto de tipo ‘ porra esse moleque é incrivel’. Entao ensaiamos com ele e ele aprendeu tudo.. Ele começou em um kit de bateria muito menor, né, sem dinheiro em um emprego de merda, e dissemos ‘hey voce quer fazer isso?sabe, sair com a gente’ e seu rosto se levantou como se estivessemos dando uma chance pra ele começar do nada e construir seu proprio legado do jeito que nós fizemos. Não tinhamos nada e foi tudo baseado em amizade, sem essa coisa de ego. Nada disso. É tudo sobre musica, fãs, e é muito bacana a gente dar uma chance dessas pra alguém. É como um sonho se tornar realidade pra ele sabe, pq tem um monte de bateristas de estudio que sao bons e nao conseguem se promover e foi exatamente o que fizemos. Queriamos algo real.”
